Our Story

We were established as a small family business in 1976. Since then, the company has developed into New Zealand’s only remaining manufacturer of high-end, residential and commercial upholstery fabrics, wool homewares and apparel. We believe by creating durable, authentic, beautifully designed wool fabrics, we enlighten the world as to the natural beauty, sustainability and benefits of our wool products.

Inter-weave has become synonymous with our clients worldwide for cutting-edge design, innovation, integrity, service and above all, beautifully crafted wool products. Whilst we remain true to our roots, our fabrics are sold throughout the globe, travelling as far as the U.K and New York City. 

The respect that we have gained on our home turf has enabled us to develop trusted relationships much farther afield, yet by insisting that all our products contain the most sustainable fibre of all – wool, we support our local farmers and workforce. Our woollen yarn is grown, scoured, spun, dyed, woven and finished all within New Zealand, making our company an integral part of our New Zealand community. Authenticity is very dear to our hearts. Whist fashions come and go, we remain unerringly true to our values and are committed to a sustainable future, taking care of our beautiful planet, people and creatures alike.
