DYEHOUSE ASSISTANT
Inter-weave is looking for an enthusiastic person, with a grounding in chemistry, a love of colour and a passion for textiles, to work in our dyehouse. You will learn from the experts and join a friendly team.
Dyeing of wool and wool/nylon blends, yarns and fabrics requires and involves the following:
• understanding the different fibres/yarns
• understanding the different dyestuff ranges
• understanding the different auxiliaries
• machine loading/unloading
• machine operation/controller operation
• weighing and addition of auxiliaries
• weighing, dissolving / mixing and addition of dyes
• colour matching/colour correction
• identifying faults, causes and corrective actions
• safe handling of dyes and chemicals
• safe operation of dyeing vessels
Dyeing is an art and a science, together they enhance nature's gift, wool!
